Adelson Institute
Located at 7737 North University Drive, Tamarac, Broward County, Florida, the Adelson Institute was the Adelson family dental practice and Charlie Adelson's workplace. Prosecution witnesses and investigators identified it as the source of 44 paychecks signed by Donna Adelson payable to Magbanua — described as phantom employment beginning approximately two months after the murder, with Magbanua performing no actual work — and characterized those payments as murder compensation. Law enforcement also conducted an undercover approach to Donna Adelson at the practice and placed a follow-up undercover call targeting the location.
About
The institute appears across all three trials in 20 proceedings as the business entity through which the state alleged post-murder compensation to Magbanua was routed via payroll records. Its dual function as an evidence source — the paycheck records signed by Donna Adelson — and as an active investigation site where an undercover approach to Donna Adelson was conducted made it a recurring reference point in opening statements, direct examinations, and closing argument across the Magbanua retrial, Charlie Adelson trial, and Donna Adelson trial.
