Sherry Bennett

Tallahassee Police Department Investigator Sherry Bennett contributed to the evidentiary record through her custody of wiretap recordings and her participation in witness interviews. At the 2019 joint trial, she testified that she received wiretap data on disks, secured it in a locked cabinet accessible only to her, and identified State's Exhibit 138 as fair, accurate, and complete copies of the calls. At Katherine Magbanua's retrial, the defense called Bennett to present her recorded interview of Jessica Rodriguez for impeachment and to explain how she emailed Magbanua's signed arrest warrant to Investigator Craig Isom after hours. Her testimony covered Rodriguez's account of a bag delivery, while cross-examination established that Rodriguez could not provide a definite delivery date and that the interview did not ask whether Magbanua knew what was happening. In Charlie Adelson's trial, Bennett was identified in testimony as an investigator who had been present during interviews of a witness.
